Gradation

Natalie Bardzik gradation

My gradation starts as a square and transforms into a six-sided star. I copied the square and added anchor points in order to begin creating the points of the star and I also rotated the shape to add more visual interest. I then copied the row, alternately flipping it and reducing the height of the row each time.

Range of Representation Project

For this project, the most difficult part for me was creating the sixth object using only the shape tool. To figure out what shapes I should use, I first sketched out a chameleon, figuring out what basic shapes make it up. I started with a triangle for the head and the crest, and a semi-circle for the body. The tail was the most difficult part of building the chameleon out of shapes because the spiral tail is imperative to make it recognizable as a chameleon. I ended up created the tail using only circles, and it gave me the desired look of a spiral. My favorite part of the project was the fourth image, because I had the most fun doing the line work of the chameleon, and adding details such as wrinkles to the skin and shading to give it more depth.
